Even though Richard I did not marry Gonnor until after 962 according toNorman law, he married her according to Danish custom prior to his betrothal toEmma, daughter of Hugh "The Great", Duke of France. Years after his betrothal toEmma (who was only a child at the time), he married her in 960.
