    John owned 50 acres in Chester County, Pennsylvania, probably near Coatsville, Pennsylvania in 1771, and was taxed under the "West Caln" rates. He owned 50 acres in Fawn Twp., York County in 1783, assessed at $110, and he had then a family of 4. He was enrolled in Col. Wm. Ross's militia command in 1776.
