Will dated 3 August, 1747. I, Daniel Deming of Wethersfield, do make this my last will and testament: I give
to my wife Mehetabell Deming my riding mare and my great silver cup, together with 1-3 part of all my
household goods and moveable estate. I give to my wife the use of 1-3 part of my house and the rest of my
buildings, as also the use of 1-3 of all my lands, during her natural life. I give to my wife the use of the whole
of my garden adjoining to the shop, as also the use of my still, so long as she remains my widow. I give to
my son Jonathan Deming my house and homelott with all the buildings thereon standing, together with all the
rest of my lands lying within the present bounds of Stepney Parish, he allowing to my wife the improvement
of her thirds as before mentioned. Further, I give to my son Jonathan a cow I bought for him instead of the
colt given him by his uncle Charles. Also, I give to him a yoke of steers that come of sd. cow, or another
yoke, which he shall choose. Also, I give to my son Jonathan my cart, chains, plows, with all my husbandry
utensils; also one featherbed and furniture. I give to my son my still after my wife shall have done with it, he
paying to his sisters 2-3 of the value of it at inventory price. Also I give to my son all the right and title that I
have or may have in the common and undivided lands in Wethersfield. I give to my daughters, Abigail and
Lydia Deming, the remainder of all my household goods and moveable estate, together with the remainder of
all my lands (not disposed of as before mentioned), to be equally divided between them, they allowing to my
son Jonathan this liberty and privaledge with respect unto that lott I bought of Jonathan Riley, that when they
shall be minded to sell sd. lott, if my son be able and have a desire to purchase sd. lott to keep for his own
use, they shall let him have it at inventory price, he making good to them a sinking of the money from the
time it was inventoried. Furthermore, I give to my two daughters, Abigail and Lydia, the liberty, use and
improvement of the little bed room in the kitchen, together with the 1-2 in the south chamber in the house, so
long as they shall remain unmarried. Furthermore, I give to my two daughters, equally to be divided between
them, 2-3 of what my still shall be valued at at inventory price. I appoint my wife Mehetable to be sole
executrix. Witness: Josiah Griswold, Ebenezer Kilby, Ebenezer Goodwin.
