There was laid out to him in the North Society, 15 MAR 1712, four acres of land. In 1727, with Samuel Tracy, he rented a grist-mill for eight years. In 1730 he sells Daniel Hurlbut in South Lots, Middletown. In 1734 he sold his house and lands in Upper Houses for L210, and moved to Chatham, Middle Haddam Soc.. He deeded portions of his land to his children as they married and settled. In 1744 he moved to Groton, Ct and purchased land in 1746. He first settled in Haddam Neck, town of Haddam, but latter removed to 'Waughan Reservation' in Chatham, now town of Portland, where he purchased a farm from and house from John Clark in 1755 and also land of James Pelton in 1761. He was executor named in his fathers will, who gave him his blacksmith's shop and tools with lands and all his movable estate. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War served with Col. Canfield.
