I am the son of Hugh O Allison, who is the youngest son of William Carter & Lou Gracey Allison, who is a son of William Herbert & Elizabeth P Clark Allison. 
   
I am in the process of doing a family ancestry research and find your name and email address as an ancestor of Elizabeth Peggy Clark, who would be my great grandmother on my father's side.
   
This is my first attempt at the family tree thing so I have a lot to learn. I'm using the Ancestry.com web page and find it very interesting. I was visiting the Allison Cemetery in Putnam County last Thursday and retrieved some information from head stones of relatives ( birthdates, etc. ).
   
Anyway, saw your name and email address listed so thought I'd attempt to contact you and hopefully we can share some information about our family history.
I live in Lebanon Tennessee and visit Cookeville and Putnam County often.  I have one brother H O Allison Jr and one sister Letha Mae Mansel still living in Putnam County. One brother Willie Eugene and one sister Deanna deceased.

Hello Johnsons.  I was beginning to think you thought this was a trick email and wasn't going to respond.  I could certainly understand that with all the hokey emails floating around.  Anyway, glad to hear from you.  This genology stuff can get quite complicated. I'm not sure that I understand exactly how you fit into the Allison Genology.  Maybe you can help me understand.
My dad was Hugh O Allison.  He was the youngest son of William Carter and Lou ( Louisana ) Gracey Allison.  He was born 
July 6, 1896 and died December 31, 1974.  William Carter Allison was a son of William Herbert Allison and his wife ( the wife's name escapes me and the information is outside in a notebook and it's raining ) ( I believe her name is Elizabeth  P Clark ).
As I understand it, you are a decendant of Elizabeth Clark.  
Any information you are willing to share is greatly appreciated.

         I'm glad to help you.  Much of the genealogy is in an Allison book that was written in Putnam County....I'll see if I can find the name.  Allison's come from Ireland or Scotland and into Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

          My 2nd g.grandparents are: William Herbert Allison and Elizabeth Peggy Clark...
Hugh Allison's grandparents.  There were 11 children that I know of in Wm. Herbert and Eliz's family...all boys except one girl, Glatha Jane Allison  b.13 Nov 1853  d.30 Oct 1886  near, Wesley,Madison Co.,Ark..  Glatha is my great, grandmother.  Glatha married Andrew Jackson Garrison and they had my grandfather, Robert Mansfield Garrison 1880 in Putnam Co.,Tenn. They later moved to Arkansas where Andrew died in 1885 and Glatha died in 1886......The children were all brought back to Tennessee and raised by her mother, Elizabeth P. Clark Allison  (she married a Butler after 1st husb. died.)
          William Herbert Allison's father and mother were:  Joseph "Mine Lick" Allison 
b. 1 Dec 1799.Orange County, North Carolina and d:  5 Dec 1886, Putnam County, Tennessee.  Wife of Joseph:  Azineth Stone  of, Kentucky....
         The Allison line has a Revolutionary War soldier and also goes back into Penn. and on back from there to Ireland or Scotland......
   
          Where was Hugh born and where did he die?
          You and I are 2nd cousins, once removed (one generation removed)...common
ancestors are Wm.H. Allison and Elizabeth Peggy Clark........
           I'm really busy much of the time and don't always get my email answered right away.....but if you can wait a little....I'm sure there's more information.
