RESEARCH:
On Long Island there are Queens,Nassau and Suffolk Counties....
There is a Hempstead in Nassau Co. (that county was formed from Queens in 1898). So research could be started in Queens County which was formed in 1683 and would have included the Hempstead area at that time period. Look for Adam Ireland's parents in that area.

Page 530.--In the name of God, Amen, February 5, 1760. I, ADAM IRELAND, of North Castle, in Westchester County, innholder. My executors are to sell the farm where I now live, and pay all debts. I leave to my eldest son John my young black mare, and new saddle, gun, sword and belt, cartridge box, and wearing apparell. To my daughter, Hannah Searle, three sheep. To my daughter Mary a bed and 7. All the rest I leave to my wife Martha. I make my brother in law, Caleb Fowler, and my son in law, John Searle, executors.

IRELAND,ADAM d 1760, will dated 5 Feb 1760, proved 1 Mar 1760, will cites brother-in-law Caleb Fowler; m 1st.. name unknown; m 2nd after 1749 Martha d/o Abraham & Hannah Miller of Rye. Resided Northcastle and had by 1st wife: John recorded earmark 3 June 1752 Northcastle. Hannah, m John Searles (1732-1810) of Mt Pleasant. Mary.
CONCLUSION by Eleanor Law Johnson:
We do not know the name of Adam Ireland's first wife. It isn't Martha Fowler which is all over the internet, ancestral file,etc.. The first wife (name unknown) is the mother of my ancestor, Hannah, who married John Searles.
The connection of Adam Ireland to Caleb Fowler is that he (Caleb) married an Anne Miller and Adam Ireland's second wife was her sister, Martha Miller. Thus it is plain to see that more research needs to be done and better conclusions drawn from the available records.
A marriage record for Adam Ireland and his first wife would help in the research.
Also the childrens birth or christening records.
