John Dale (Deal or Dial) (d. 1708) came to America from "near
Londonderry, Ireland sometime between 1683 and 1686" and settled
in Somerset County, Maryland. He married Katherine Fletcher
before 1689. Descendants lived in Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee,
Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.

Text: Wills Cecil In his 1719 will his other sons Joseph, John, and Francis the youngest were mentioned. He mentions six sons in his Will probated 1719. No daughters were listed it is wondered if there were not additional children. James was also one of the "15 Irishmen " for whom Talbot surveyed land called New Munster in 1683 and that bought the land from Stevensin by deed dated 1714 and 1718. These deed conveyed 903 acres to Joseph,James, David, Arthur and Elijah (probably Elias),and Mary Alexander (relict). James and Mary lived in the Milferd,"Hundred" of the New Munster tract in morthern Cecil Co.MD.
