You'll find Kathryn and Ulysses headstones and Annie Elizabeth and John (Johan) Schnebele's there.I have added more children based on their ages and burial in the same cemetery as Amelia, and census information as it is found."As you will see, the surname Schnebele has been misspelled more ways than I can count Cousin Carey Cavis (whome I met doing research at the Siskiyou County Historical Society the same time I was in there) told me that during the war, when people of German descent were suspect, some Schnebele's changed their name to Snavely (CiCi - however, this spelling was used decades before the war as well). Schnebele filed for a Civil War Pension Yreka Journal, April 24, 1905:Death of John SchnebeleJohn Schnebele, a pioneer resident ofYreka, and one of our most esteemed,upright and industrious citizens, diedon Tuesday evening, April 18th, aged75 years, after a long and severe illness.He came to this county shortly afterthe civil war, having served as a Ser-geant in the Union Army. A wife andseven children, Mrs. Cain and Mrs.Frank Shaffer of Montague, Mrs. Shaf-fer of San Francisco, Mrs. Thos. Pen- rose of Nevada City, Geo. Schnebele ofthe U. S. Navy, and Carl and Ida Schnebele, residing at home, survivehim.The funeral took place last Thursdayfrom the family residence, under the auspices of the Yreka Fire Department,the deceased having been a prominentmember of Klamath Co. No. 2. Thefuneral services were conducted by Rev.W. J.
