Holbert, age 27, wife Mary, is listed in the Toledo City Directory 1894 as deceased January 8, 1894. We have looked at the newpapers for that date and find no record of his death. The Health Dept has no record of his death so he may not have died in Lucas County, etc. Mrs. Irene McCreerey,Head Local History and Genealogy Division.

DEATH:
Old letter:
Letter written to Mrs. Ellen Hulbert from Rinehart Hospital, Ashland, Wis.,Jan.5,1894 "Dear Madam, Frank Hulburt was hurt in the woods at Fisher's Camp and is in the hospital, a log rolled on him and he is hurt in his back and head to such an extent that it will be a doubt if he ever recovers. He wished me to write you. He don't have his right mind only a part of the time. Yours Truly, Mrs. W. T. Rinehart (Wife of Dr. W. T. Rinehart)

Old letter:
"Wesley Hulbert,
Your brother, Frank Hulbert, was brought to the hospital from Fred Fishers Camp Dec. 29, (1893) and died Jan. 8, 1894. A log rolled on him, breaking his back, fracturing his skull and also causing an injury in his stomach. He was out of his head when he came and was conscience at any time (?)
He had been living all summer with an old man named J.V. Davidson, at Bark Bay, Bayfield, Wisconsin. This old man is on a homestead, he was here before your brother died and said all of his clothes were with him when you brother came. He had with him simply the clothing whiche he was then wearing. I sent these to you by express today. He hadn't any money at all, he had a hospital ticket which entitled him to treatment while in the hospital. As far as the watch and papers you speak of you will probably secure them by sending to this old man. Mrs. W. T. Rinehart, Ashland, Wisconsin"
