JASON CROW was born eight miles east of New Lisbon, Ohio, October 8, 1818.  His father was a native of Pennsylvania, and his mother of New Jersey, and were both born in November, 1792. They came to Columbiana County about 1812, where the father died in August, 1864. Jason Crow, at the age of twenty-one, began life on his own account. About 1835, he went to Putnam County, Ohio, where his mother died, August, 1876. June 26, 1844, he married Miss Rebecca Ann Holden, daughter of Rev. P.B. Holden, of Loudoun County, Va. To this marriage were born six children, five of whom are still living, and have had the best education possible. During the war, Mr. Crow was drafted, but, being an excellent farmer, he was prevailed upon to hire a substitute. As long as the war lasted he contributed bounteously to the cause of the Union and the comfort of its soldiers. he has now 270 acres of excellent land, a fine brick residence, bank barn and other buildings, and has already assisted four of his children in business to the extent of $1,000 each. He and wife are members of the M.E. Church, and all his children are members of some denomination of Christian worship. In politics, they are Republican.

Dear father and friends I take 	PB	FATHER-IN-LAW
this oppertunty to rite lines to you com-
mencing our geting home from your county and our
health we left your house on satterday and on the
wen monday, we left my father and on tueday
a little after noon we was at home we foun evry
thing right side up except the corn and that was
badly cut up by the wort. I replatnted and it
is at comnuing on pabt if the frost dont come to soon
I think that I will have a crop of corn yet
Wheat in this county is some hurt with the=20
wearte we thought about the 20 of Lune that
the wearle was it going to take it clear sweap
but in it day or two cam a heavy rane and kep
wet for severl days and it apars to stop the
fly from working I finished ending my
wheat an satterday last and I had a bout four
hundred dousin good _____ shases the hands that
I had that , I had thinks that I will have
two hundred bushels of wheat I can be better
after it is thrashed I think that bale sode wheat
will hardly be worth eating. _______
We are all well at present and I hope that
these few lines may find you all enjoying
good health the nabors are enquiring when
you are coming out to see us and I tel them
this fall so you must not disapoint I=20

here last week and the ask ann when you was
at coming out and she tell them next fall
and then the wanted to know what you was
a coming after. I suppose that hannah wanted=20
to know whether you was a coming to see her or
but it nough about this mowing here is from
seven shillings to one dollar cradling from one
dollar and it qurter to it dollar and it half
I hired a hair to help me throug wheat harvest
and hazing for a dollar per day I understand
that wages in mishagan is about as high as the
