That neither of said parties is an habitual drunkard, epileptic, imbecile or insane, and is not under the influence of any intoxicating liquor or narcotic drug.

Received a letter from Adrienne L. Bal, 3611 Vista Charon Oaks, Walnut Creek, Ca. 94598 Aug 1997 looking for information on Ray T. Hoover.  Family records show he was born in Bucyrus, Ohio in March 1878, and he ran away from home at 15 or 16 years old and was never heard from again. Note:  I do not know if this information fits the Ray Hoover in my records, but it may be the same person. He could have been born in 1878, that would make him 30 yrs old when he married Orpha Ellen Law.  Very possible.

Hi Kiana,
        I've been going through my files on past emails this morning and found this.  I was wondering if you might send me Bonnie's email or telephone so I can contact her and keep her in the Law Family Reunion list.  We will have a family reunion with-in a few years, maybe next year if I get my act together.  We live in Las Vegas and everyone seems to agree that this is a good place to meet....except not in summer, it's too hot.
You can usually get good rates on air-travel into LV and some hotels are reasonable.
        Love to hear from you.  And did you tell me how we are related....which line you come down from, who your parents are, etc.   My father was Ted (Theodore Law) brother to Orpha. LaVerne was my 1st cousin....however, I never remember ever meeting her.

Regarding Franklin Lum. What is his middle name? I found a Franklin E. Lum on the Florida Death Index that seems to match. I also have a Franklin Lum on the 1930 Census in Detroit, Wayne Co. Michigan that seems to match and has him listed as "son." I guess that means that he was still living at home during the census.

Please excuse the following questions if they seem a little too basic to you. I have only just started into geneology and really don't know the terms and stuff yet.

1. Below you note "W: Naples,Collier,Florida". What does this mean?

Franklin's parents?

4. "Marie Swindler was Opal Law's daughter.....Opal is Orpha's sister...

Well, I think that is all for now. Oh, wait a minute, there is something else. In Jane Hodgson's EIB Ancestry from Ancestry.com, she has "Pearson*B. Rev Holden" as father to Sarah Jane Holden. What would his name be? What is the "*" for? Was he a "man of the cloth?"

The "*" appears in Sarah's mother's name, HER parents' names and her maternal grandparents' names, too.

Finally, (for now) the last in the line, "Jacob* EIB" What does EIB stand for? If you don't know the answers to these questions regarding Jane's tree, could you forward them to Jane?

and Pontiac, Michigan.   Gennie packed up the 3 kids and went home to Penn.....never heard from again..
