John LOWE
Fought in Rev War for N.C. BaptiApprenticed as a wheelwright.He had been a rebel but shortly after marriage he was hit with guilt and began reading and repenting. He joined the Methodist and his wife the Baptist. 6 years later in S.Carolina he became a baptist as a minister but was shortly excluded for heresy.He neverjoined any religion again but preached the rest of his life. First white settler in Simpson Co. Kentucky manufacturing the first axe, plow, spinning wheel and mill. On March 9 he said "If this is death it is not so bad as I expected."
He married Nancy Ann Butler 1755 at of Rehoboth, Massachusetts . Nancy Ann Butler was born at Goochland, Virginia 1738 daughter of James Butler and Mrs. Frances Butler .
