James LUNA

                   James Luna was born in Nashboro or Sumner Co.,Tenn.
He served in the war of 1812, enlisted 4 Oct. 1813 and served as Ensign until he was discharged 4 Jan 1814 in the company commanded by Capt. John Porter. He was in the Battle of Talladega on 9 Nov. 1813 and at Forts Stother and Deposit. His application for land bounty was dated 7 Nov 1850. He received 40 acres. His declarations of service in applications for pensin (SO 21295, SC 13616) were dated 13 April 1855 and 10 June 1871 in Marshall Co, Tenn.

James Luna's will is found in Marshall Co.,Tenn. Wills, Bk. B, pp 330 - 331. His son, Peter Luna, was named executor, all lands were to be sold and the funds divided among his children (Or their representatives)
