William Hatton Nephew of Mr Thomas Hatton his Lordps Secretary his Mark for Cattle and hoggs viz: his uncles the Said Secretary his Mark on the right Ear, and the left Ear bearing the Like Mark on the upper part of the Ear as the right Ear cloth on the nether part.
Job Chandler on April last sold to Thomas Hatton two cows for the joint use of Robert Hatton son of Thomas Hatton and William Hatton, nephew of said Thomas now living with him. 31 Aug 1653. (Arch. of MD, Vol 10, p.260).
