John HUME

Native of Clark County, Kentucky, born June 22, 1803, son of John Hume and Esther Patton; spent entire life in Clark County, KY, engaged in farming, stock-raising, and feeding cattle; married Maria Cunningham, November 6, 1827; four children, Elizabeth, who married James D. Gay, and had two children, one living, Maria; Ann, deceased; Mary Bedford, who has five living children: Matthew, Clay, Franklin, Henrietta and Samuel; Laura Clay, who has three living children, Hume, Frank and Harry; Maria Hume died August 7, 1849; member, Royal Arch Mason since 1825; owns 2,500 acres of fine land; Democrat politically.
