James II was crowned at the age of 6 following the murder of his father James I. He loved mechanized warfare, employing huge cannons to be used against the castles of his enemies. One of these Mons Meg can still be seen at Edinburgh Castle.Ironically, he was accidentally killed by cannon fire at Roxburgh Castle.
