Dates of birth and death from Owen & Couey, Early Winchester Cemetery Inscriptions. Date of marriage from International Genealogy Index, Familysearch.com. Name of spouse from Int'l Gen. Index, and from Chas. Kerr, 5 History of Kentucky p. 286 (Chicago, 1922).
Names of children from Will, Will Book 1, Page 54, Clark County (KY) Clerk's office: Thomas W., William L., Ambrose D., Elvinah, Susan B. Strode, and Lucy Wilson. Will names wife: Elizabeth.
From Kerr, p. 286: Old Rash Home was located 4 miles north of Winchester. William Rash owned 500 acres, was a pioneer "Hardshell" Baptist preacher, preached at Friendship Church (at site of present Winchester Cemetery), fought in the War of 1812 and was captured by the Indians at the battle of Raisin River, but escaped by night. Only children listed in Kerr are A.D. Rash and Lewis Rash, and a grandson Thomas whose date of birth is given as 1836. From the 1850 Ky Census, Thomas is listed in the household of Thomas W. Rash and his wife Mary. From this information, Thomas W. is presumed to be (a) the son of William Rash, and (b) the father of Thomas (born in 1836).
In History of Kentucky Baptists, the following: native of Virginia, born Feb. 13, 1783; brought to Kentucky as a child, "where he was bred to the trade of a hatter"; professed religion in the Great Revival of 1801 and was baptized into the fellowship of Davids Fork church in Fayette County. In August, 1812, entered the army, was promoted to captain, was taken prisoner by the British at the Battle of the Rasin River, was paroled and returned home to resume the occupation of hatter; was ordained to the ministry on April 26, 1823, and accepted the "pastoral charge" of the Friendship church in Clark County; died of paralysis on June 9, 1859; lists only one child: Ambrose Dudley Rash. Spencer, A History of Kentucky Baptists from 1769 to 1885, pp. 605-06 (1886). In Kerr, 5 History of Kentucky p. 142 (Biography of Alvin Francis Duckworth), William S. Rash is described as a preacher of the "Primitive Baptist faith."
1850 U.S. Census for Clark County, Kentucky lists occupation as "Bapt. Clergyman," value of property at $20,000, and place of birth as Virginia.

1850 Census lists place of birth as Kentucky. Assuming state of birth is correct and limited mobility, the 1790 "Census" of Kentucky lists relatively few Berrys in Fayette County, Kentucky (Clark County was formed from Fayette County in 1792), and only one "Thomas" who has a name which recurrs in the names of the children and grandchildren of William Rash and Elizabeth Berry. The 1800 "Census" of Kentucky lists more Berrys, but shows a Thomas Berry and Thomas Berry, Sr. on the tax rolls of Clark County. From the International Genealogy Index, Familysearch.com, the parents of Betsey Berry, born in Clark, Kentucky in 1788, are listed as Thomas Berry and Mildred Allen. A child, "Mildred A.," age 2, is listed in the household of Thomas W. Rash in the 1850 U.S. Census. Therefore, the parents of Elizabeth Berry to be Thomas Berry and Mildred Allen. See also notes for Thomas Berry.
