Edward Thomas HAGYARD
Twin brother of Robert. Emigrated to Canada in 1849, bought farm on Lot 24, 1st Line East, Chinguacousy. Veterinary surgeon in Campbell's Cross, Canada. Came to Kentucky in 1875 to see Shorthorn bull, "Eighth Duke of Geneva," which had been bought in England for $8,000, gold. Thought country so beautiful and like England and presenting opportunity for his three sons, that he decided to re-locate in Kentucky.
Veterinarian--practiced in Nashville, Tennessee. Returned to Fayette County, Kentucky to take position as veterinarian for J. B. Haggin's Elmendorf Farm.
Veterinarian for Marcus Daly, Bitter Root Stock Farm, Hamilton, Montana. Returned to Kentucky, pratciced veterinary medicine with brother and son. Buried Lexington Cemetery.
