William PEARCE

                   Information from Biographical Cyclopedia of the Commonwealth of Kentucky (John M. Gresham Company, Chicago, 1896):  " . . . a native of England, and one of the most prosperous merchants of his day. He received only an ordinary education, but was a man of strong character and remarkable individuality. He was a merchant, private banker and a farmer, and became one of the wealthiest men in northern Kentucky. He died of cholera, age forty-eight years, June 14, 1833." Biographical Cyclopedia, p. 458.
