Samuel Lyon (1750-95) was commissioned colonel of Cumberland County militia, 1777, and was appointed commissioner of purchases, 1780. He was born in Marsh Creek; died in Carlisle, Pa.
Robert Goodwin (1739-89) served as private in the South Carolina troops. He was born in York County; died in Louisa County, Va.
Alexander Russell (1758-1836) served as 2d lieutenant and afterwards 1st lieutenant under Captain Alexander in the 7th regiment, Pennsylvania Line. He was born in York County; died in Gettysburg, Pa.
