Range for date of death assumed from obituary of sister, Mae B. VanMeter Packer, who died in December, 1930 (L. Marshall VanMeter is listed as a survivor, living in Denver, CO) and obituary of sister, Evaline VanMeter Thomas, who died in November, 1934 (L. Marshall VanMeter is not included among survivors). In Elizabeth Barbour Bruce Roberts' family bible, she states that Louis Marshall VanMeter, Jr. died May 22, 1941 in Denver, CO, and his body was cremated.
