John HICKS
In February 1745/46, she and her husband were parties to a dispute overthe management of her father's affairs and will. They complained to thecourt that her brother Samuel had not taken an inventory nor given anaccounting as gaurdian of his father between the time in 1731 and 1745.In November 1745 Samuel submitted an inventory showing the worth ofhis father's estate to be 1722 pounds. This was a large amount and wasall that was left after expenses for maintaining his father, mother andtwo unmarried sisters fr fourteen years. Rebecca Hicks received 142pounds, 9 shillings and 4 pence. There was another inventory taken andthis one showed that the estate was valued at 2024 pounds and 5shillings.
He married Rebecca Champney 8 May 1721 at Westboro, Ma . Rebecca Champney was born at Crambridge, Middlesex, Ma 8 Oct 1703 daughter of Samuel Champney and Hannah Smedley .
