                   From Jan Everly Williams' web site: Thomas came to Swago from Capon Valley, Frederick Co., VA (this seems to correspond to present-day Hampshire Co., WV), between 1768 and 1770 or between 3 NOV 1776 and 25 MAY 1779, and entered 300 acres of land in 1770. His parents were from Scotland; they were John McNeill and possibly a Van Meter. The McNeills and McNeels  of Pocahontas Co. may be descended from two brothers, sons of John.

Jonathan made his will 13 OCT 1825; it w as probated 7 JUN 1831. His executor was his son Moore; witnesses were John Mc Niel Joseph Buckley, and William McNiell Sr."
