at various times from 1925 to 1929.    Worked as patrolman at Ensley
steel plant in 1933 - 36.  Also worked as beltman, construction labor
foreman, yard   switchman, and rigger (jobs at various times to 1948).
Served on USS Arizona in Marines (1930).  Ended U.S. Navy  career as
Chief Boatswain's Mate.
