Willis Field from Culpeper County, VA., married Elizabeth Field, his cousin and daughter of John Field. She died within two years of her marriage. about 1802.
His second marriage (1803) was to Isabella Miriam Buck, daughter of Col. John Buck. Willis remained in Culpeper County, VA., until the death of his grandfather, Col. John Field. Then just of age and inheriting some estate in Virginia he converted it into money, and with some Negroes, removed to Bourbon County, Kentucky, locating on a fine body of land, which he afterward sold to Colonel Hume. He married his cousin, Elizabeth Field, who had recently come from Virginia. After Elizabeth's death and his subsequent marriage to Isabella Buck he removed to Woodford County, Kentucky, and settled on a military bounty survey of 12000 acres, where he built the second brick house in the county, calling it Airymount, where he lived and died in old age, leaving a large family. He was Representative six years, Senator two years, and High Sheriff under the old constitution of Kentucky.
