                   Preserved Strong moved from Northampton, MA to Lebanon, CT in
1714; six years later he moved to Coventry, CT where he served
as selectman in the 1730s.  Tradition says that the name
Preserved comes from the fact he was born in a raging snowstorm
and survived ( Strong descendants; 2;986).
