Capt. William MCCOLLOCH, (1812)
1 CAUS Battle of Fort Meigs (do not know if the following is fact) William McColloch, was killed by Tecumpseh's braves at the Battle of Brownstown near modern Detroit, Michigan. Apparently he fought so bravely that afterwards, the Shawnee warriors cooked and ate his heart, hoping to absorb some of his bravery by a kind of magic ritual.
NOAH ZANE MCCULLOCH, ABT 1798 - 1870Noah Zane Mcculloch is mentioned in The Early History of Zanesville, Vol I, pgs 58-61. In essence Noah held various offices in the city of Bellfountain: County Clerk 1822-1832; Auditor 1832-1846; Justice of the Peace for two terms; Associate Justice of the Court of Common Pleas for seven years. Only one son, the Honorable Frank McCulloch, is known at this time. It is said that Noah raised a very large family.
He married Nancy Zane 1797 at Zanesville, Muskingum Co, Ohio . Nancy Zane was born at Beaver Dam, Hardin Co, Ohio 7 Apr 1778 .
