                   Abraham figured quite extensively in the early history of Richland district as it is now called, having engaged to some extent as a scout among the Indians, by whom he received a wound in the hip; its effect was prevented from becoming fatal by a book which he carried in his pocket. This happened in early life. He followed farming as an occupation. He was the father of eleven children, six sons and five daughters. Pensioned. Listed in D.A.R. Patriot Index, Private, Scout, Patriotic Service, VA.
