Donald Irving Pope (9) is the second child a son of Arthur Alvin Pope (8) andLaura J. King Pope. Donald went to school in the rural education district andgraduated from Red Cloud High School. He continued his education at the Uni versity of Nebraska receiving an A. B. in 1897. He then took post graduate w ork in law at Columbia University, New York City, New York in 1904. In 1905 he studied law at University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and later at Universit iesof Wisconsin and Minnesota studying Logic and Ethics. He held a position atthe University of Chicago at a professor of Ethics for several years. He alsowas chosen to study in Heidelberg, Germany along with a group of severa l other men. Upon returning he graduated from Brown University with a course in Sociology. Donald Irving (9) Pope married Amelia Eliza (9) Pope (his secon d cousin) (born August 6, 1882 daughter of Rush Loomis (8) Pope and Claribe l Nordeen Pope ) on September 15, 1904 at Lind, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. F rom this marriage there were two children. 1.) Robert Gordon (10) Pope born June 16, 1905 in Waupaca, Wisconsin 2.) Harold Price (10) Pope born Octobe r 15,1906 in Waupaca, Wisconsin Donald died on June 24, 1918 in Omaha, Nebr aska. Amelia Pope Pope married a second time to: Amelia(9) Pope (9) Pope marr ied Gustaf Adolf Sutherland (born February 25, 1885 in Skara, Sweden son of J ohanna and Elizabeth Sutherland)on March 11, 1922 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Don ald was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. But all his work was to no avail h e became ill soon after study completion and lay and invalid for several year s. Donald died June 24, 1918 at the age of 43 years 6 months and 9 days.

Amelia Eliza Pope (9) is the first child a daughter of Rush Loomis Pope (8) and Claribel Charlotte Nordeen Pope. Her first years of education was at the Post Corners School and then after moving to Waupaca, Wisconsin attending the Lind Center Schools. After graduation from high school she attended the StateTeachers College at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, graduating with a teachers deg ree in 1903. After graduation she taught school in Grand Rapids, now known as Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Amelia Eliza (9) Pope married her second cousin Donald Irving (9) Pope (born December 15, 1875 in Oak Creek Webster County, Nebraska the son of Arthur Alvin Pope (8) and Laura J. King Pope) on Septembe r 15, 1904 at Lind, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. From this marriage there were two children. 1.) Robert Gordon (10) Pope born June 16, 1905 in Waupaca, Wisconsin 2.) From 1907 to 19 18 she taught elementary school in Waupaca, Wisconsin. In 1918 after her hus bands' death she became charge person for the War Camp Community House at Fis her'sIsland, New York. From 1919-1920 she went back to the County Normal Sc hoolat Gays Mills, Wisconsin to teach. The following years worked as a libr arianin the Edward Bain School at Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 1921 the summer of , she attended the Library School at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin, receiving her librarian license. June 1934 she retired from teach ing, moving to Crystal Lake, Wisconsin; where she lived with her sons for thr ee years. Amelia became a member of the Easter Star for several years, of St. MarksEpiscopal Church in Waupaca. After her retirement from teaching she b ecame anavid gardener, being a member of the Waupaca and Kenosha Garden Club s.

Robert Gordon (10) Pope is the first child a son of Donald Irving (9) Pope and Amelia Eliza (9) Pope (9)Pope. Robert attended the Waupaca grade schools andthen McKinley Junior High at Kenosha, Wisconsin for one year. He also spentone year each at the Vocational School and State School for the Blind. Aftereducation he assisted his brother with the farm work. Robert's hobbi es are smoking pipe collecting and bird study.
