Bertha Lutina Pope (8) is the tenth child a daughter of Nathaniel
(7) and Eliza Jane Loomis Pope.
When she was twelve her mother died, and was cared for byher
sisters Ida Viola and Mary Ellen they kept house for the family. As
B ertha grew older she acclaimed full responsibility for the house and her
fath ers care.

Ella Viola (9) Pope was the third child a daughter of Bert Pope and
Bertha Lutina Pope (8) Pope.
Ella was reared by her Aunt Mary Ellen Pope Jones. She went to
school in Waupaca and in 1923 graduated from Waupaca High. She continued
her education by going to Carroll College at Waukesha, Wisconsin
graduating in 1927 with a Bachelor of Science degree in teaching. Her
accomplishments while in college was a member of Chi Chapter of Alpha
Kappa, and of the Beta, Beta, Beta International Honorary Biological
fraternity. After receivingher degree she taught high school in
Colby, Wisconsin from 1927-1929, and then 1929-1932 in Burlington,
Wisconsin.
Ella Viola (9) Pope married William Harry Moore (born October 22,
1899 in Pardee, Wisconsin) on May 27, 1932 in Elgin, Illinois. From this
union in marriage there was one child.
1.) Mar y Mac (10 Pope) Moore born April 19, 1933 in Burlington,
