I was contacted by a researcher of Samuel Jackson requesting info for Lawrence LANE.Ê Their researchÊturned up documents of an Estate Settlement court case in Meigs Co., where Eleanor and Samuel had resided until 1821, when Samuel died.ÊIt was stated in that document the Jackson Estate could not be settled because Eleanor could not be found......she had "married one L. Lane and had moved away.".Ê Lawrence is on the 1810,Ê1820ÊMason Co.,WVA.ÊCensus and appears again on the 1830 Mason Co.ÊCensus.Ê Then appears on the 1840 Jackson Co. Census (Jackson was carved from Mason in 1831.....so it is probably the same piece of land, or they could have moved.)Ê Living next door is Daniel Jackson, (Sam & Nellie had an older son Daniel), and on the other side is Henry Lane, b. 1808 in Pa and Jacob is living a little further awayÊamong neighbors of whom are future family names in Henry's family as well as Jacob's.ÊÊ Nellie must have died before May of 1849, because LawrenceÊm.Ê23 May 1849,ÊElizabeth Barnhart.....a woman b., 1828.Ê Lawrence disappears from the 1850 Census and Elizabeth is living with her parents and baby.
