NAME: Bethia or Berthia FOWLER NOTES: 1. The Fowler name has been traced to the 11th Century.
NOTES: 1. Probably the John listed at Newburgh in the 1800 census, listing 2 males and 1 female, all between the ages of 16 and 25. John's children's birthdates were calculated from established dates of Abraham and Daniel. Daniel's name is found in early Green County records.
NOTES: 1. Benjamin left a will, probated 5 Dec 1808, at Fishkill, Dutchess, New York. It listed Benjamin's wife, Jemima, sons: John, William and Elisha, daughters: Elanor, Phebe, and Sarah. Nathaniel Bloomer, Benjamin Green and Timothy Tallman witnessed the will.
NOTES: 1. William is buried on his farm, "Dans Kamer" (Dance Chamber) 2. William was the Balmville Blacksmith of Orange County, New York and shod General George Washington's horse during the Revolution. 3. William left a will dated 17 Nov 1824 and filed in Newburgh, Orange County, New York. His sons, John, Jacob, and Thomas are mentioned: four daughters were also listed: Mary (Bloomer), Wendel, Abigail, Rachel and Berthia. Sarah, his wife, is also listed. Sarah was the daughter of Henry Evans and Abigail Sprague of New Platz.
NOTES: 1. Nehemiah was a tailor in New York. 2. Nehemiah moved to Virginia, then to Kentucky and then to Ohio. He is a progenitor of Bloomers that still populate Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, & Kansas. His two oldest sons stayed in Tennessee while their father and family moved to Ohio.
NOTES: 1. A Gilbert Bloomer filed for a Revolutionary Pension from Lawrence County, Kentucky on 31 Oct 1832. Gilbert stated that he moved from Ulster County, New York to Roanoke, moved to Kentucky in 1803. He lived in North Marlboro from his birth until 1793. 2. Gilbert was one of the minutemen of New Marlboro, enlisted in June 1775, before the British came to New York. His discharge and other possessions were destroyed in 1828 when his home and possessions were burned.
