Notes from Rev. Norman Flythe - Imogene (listed as Emily J.) Womble in the 1860 census was in the household of J.D. Thornton in Sussex County, VA.  I suppose she and her brother (Thomas J. Womble) went there when their mother died.  They were in Hertford County in the 1870 census.
