He was the son of my ancestors,  THOMAS NASH  and  MARGERY (BAKER) NASH  and the husband of Elizabeth Tapp, daughter of Edmund Tapp.

In 1665, he was chosen a deputy to the court and commissioner of New Haven. Capt. John Nash was granted 300 acres of land from the court on Oct. 8, 1674.
He was chosen captain of the New Haven forces sent to fight the Dutch in New York in 1673.
Also, in 1674, he was one of three from New Haven who decided on the boundaries between New Haven and Milford.
He was assigned other duties by the court over the years & was commission to Major of the New Haven militia.

Trowbridge Family Pg. 25 #2 - Thomas Trowbridge eldest son of Thomas Trowbridge the primitive settler, born in England in 1632; was twice married. 1st to Sarah Rutherford, daughter of Henry and Sarah Rutherford 24 June 1657 by whom he had eight children.  Mrs. Sarah (Rutherford) Trowbridge died 15 June 1687 aged 46 yrs.  2nd to Hannah Ball, widow of Eliphalet Ball and daughter of Major John Nash, by whom he had one child.  He was an Enterprising and successful West India merchant, Just of the Quorum and a man of note.  He died 22 August 1702 aged 70 leaving a large estate.  His wife Hannah (Ball) Trowbridge, died 3 February 1708.
