S.F. Deardorff reports the largest watermelon of the season. It was the Cuban Queen variety and by weighing it carefully Mr. Deardorff found it weighed 75 pounts. He informs us that six years ago he raised a watermelon on the same ground that weighted eighty pounds, and his neighbor, William Kerr, had one that weighed 84 pounds, the largest watermelons ever know to be raised in the Mussel Slough country - Delta.
