RESEARCH NOTE: One of the overseers of her husband's will, Mr. Francis Dove, was twice mayor of Salisbury, England, and one of the wardens of the St. Edmund's church. Under his advice and protection, Christian and her family [at least three sons] joined the group of their fellow parishioners who went from old Salisbury to found a new Salisbury in New England, where the persecution of Archbishop Laud could not follow them. She appears on an undated list of the first settlers of Salisbury in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, among whom the common lands of the new town were first divided.
