Johann Martin came to St. Louis,MO via New Orleans from Wurttemberg per letter
from great great grandson Timothy Dec 1996. Would need to find Martin in the
immigration records to see if Catherine came with him to know if they were
married in Germany or St. Louis.
Unable to locate Johann Martin in the 1870 federal census. Maisak gets spelled
many ways and I can't see him in the index.

Funeral notice give names of five sons.
Found a Catherine Miesik born May 1826 in Germany living with a son Charley
born Mar 1871 which would have been the same year as Louis was born. Charles
was born in 1867 in the 1880 federal census. Catherine is a widow and doesn't
give the number of children born. Record said she immigrated to the US in 1854
and has been in the county 46 yrs.

wife on sheet from Tim.
There is also a Charles in the 1860 census age 2/12 which would have made him
born in April 1860. This is the birth date of Peter Carl Maisak in the 1900
census so his name could have been written down wrong or the family changed the
name.
