C. Richards Dies at Age of 90
      One of Mineral Point's oldest residents, Curtis Calvin Richards,died Friday at the age of 90.  He died at a Dodgeville hospital after a brief illness.
      Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Treweek funeral home with the Rev. Wesley Hunter officiating.  Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
      Mr Richards was born on Jan. 12, 1870, near Mineral Point, to Matilda Bennelack and James Richards.  In 1894 he was united in marriage to Amelia Cridge.  They had four sons, two of them and his wife preceeding him in death.
      Surviving are to sons, Charles, Mineral Point; and Walter Milwaukee: four sisters, Mrs James (Jennie) Whitford, Freeport, Ill; Mrs William (Clara) Argall, Mineral Point; Mrs Charles (Bertha) Francois, Medford, and Mrs Gilbert (Pearl) Gorgen, Fennimore; two brothers Henry Hall,Montana: and Frank Praire du Sac: 11 grandchildren : 31 gr-grandchildren and four gr-gr-grandchildren.

GOOD WOMAN CALLED

      Amelia Cridge, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Prater Cridge, was born in Mineral Point, Wis., October 2-th, 1872 and after a long and confining illness, passed away at a Dodgeville hospital, July 26th 1944 at the age of 72 years.
      On December 20th 1894 she was united in marriage to Curtis C. Richards.  To this union was born four sons, two of whom preceded her in death.  Most of her life was spent in Mineral Point with the exception of fifteen years when the family resided in Linden.
      Mrs Richards was known to her friends and family as a loving mother and wife and a loyal friend.
      Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Charles of Platteville and Walter of Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. A.N. Keeney of Mineral Point: eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
      Funeral services were conducted from her home at 2:00p.m. July 28th 1944 by Rev. Earl E. Remaly.

WALTER J. RICHARDS
    Walter (Jim) Richards, age 80 of Mineral Point died at Memorial Hospital in Dodgeville on Sunday, June 5, 1983, after an extended illness.  Born in Mineral Point, he was married to the former Ruth Quirk.  He was empolyed for many years by the Harneschfeger Corp. of Milwaukee, retiring in 1967.  They returned to Mineral Point to make their home in 1973.  He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Mineral Point.
      He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs William (Betty) Powell of Dodgeville, and Mrs Lee (Marlene) Martin of West Bend; four granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
      Funeral services were held on Wednestay, June 8 at 10:30 a.m. from the Trinity Episcopal Church.  Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point.  The Gorgen Funeral Home, Mineral Point, was in charge.
