Obituary-Austin
The death of George Austin on Tuesday of last week brought a cloud of sorrow
to our community. No one was more respected by one and all then he and his
cheerful coming and going will be greatly missed by everybody.
He was born in Mineral Point 56 years ago and his work for many years as a
driver and truckman for the J.P. Harris Co. brought him in touch with the
public daily.
Those surviving are his wife, one sister, Lenore of Blue River; one son,
Thomas of Madison; his mother Mrs S. P. Kern of Summit, Oregon; Three sisters,
Mrs F.J. Bick of Beloit, Mrs Mary Cook and Mrs John Westphal of Oregon; two
brothers, Will of Milwaukee and John of this city.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's church Friday morning at 9:30
with pastor, Fr. M. Morris, officiating and burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
