Copy of obit Democrat June 5, 1924: John Richards - Last Saturday fternoon the body of John Richards was lowered into its lightless abiding place in Graceland Cemetery.  The ceremony was attended to by Rev. J.E. cooke and witnessed by a goodly number of longstanding friends and acquaintences.
      Deceased was 81 yrs and five months of age.  He was of this community practically all his lifetime.   Hus condition was that of feebleness for several months.  As a man he was quiet and genial, minded his own business and net all obligations honorably.  His wife preceded him in the trip to the mysterious beyond a few years ago.  No surviving near relatives excepting one brother, Jas. r. Richards, and two sisters, Mrs Mary J. Argall and Mrs Kate Mitchell.
