Mr. Quick was engaged in framing for some time and was united in marriage with Miss Mary Williams, also of Mineral Point, on February 11, 1903. Three children graced this home, Avia (Mrs Charles Dais), Alden and Robert who with their mother now remain to mourn the loss of a devoted father and husband. Eighteen years ago Mr and Mrs Quick moved to there home in this city, where Mr. Quick has been engaged in the ice business. He was a member of the Mineral Point Lodge of Odd Fellows. Besides his immediate family Mr Quick is survived by a sister, Mrs Guy Torguson, of this city, and a brother Thomas of Beloit. There are also three grandchildren. Everyone will agree that Mr. Quick was the kind of man that you could honestly call a good citizenm this in part was born out in the unusually large number of friends present at the services. Each person's misfortune awakened in him a serious concern and his life continually brought out the theme of helpfulness to others. This practical minded sympathy often prompted in others a like attitude, thus causing the organ of society to respond with greater harmony. The children, the overburdened, the unfortunate all caught this spirit from him and found gleams of happiness through it. His sudden illness and departure came as a shock to all. During the long hours of the day and night his family sought to bring him every relief possible by their loving ministry. We have lost a good citizen and understanding father, and a real friend to all. Services were held from the home Monday afternoon, Rev. LeRoy Norris Fielding, pastor of the Congregational church was the officiating clergyman. Mrs Eunice Kelley and Mrs George Hill sang comforting selections. Burial was made in Graceland cemetery.
