NOTES: 1. AKA David I or David 'The Elder' Crockett 2. David 'The Elder' and his wife, Elizabeth, and possibly several unknown children, were massacred by the Indians in Aug 1777 during an Indian raid on their property in Rogersville.
NOTE: Shot by Indians in the raid which killed his parents in Aug 1777at Rogersville, Hawkins, TN
NOTE: James was captured by the Indians at the same time his brother was shot in the arm, in Aug 1777. He was held captive for 17 years when his brothers found him and purcheased him from an Indian Trader.
He married Elizabeth Hedge Abt 1748 at Virginia . Elizabeth Hedge was born at Hawkins, Tennessee Abt 1730 .
