Stephen TRACY

Probably the son of Stephen, a freeman in Yarmouth in 1606, a mariner by occupation.(English Ancestry & Homes of the Pilgrim Fathers, Passengers of The Anne, page 164)He followed the dissenters to Leydon. While in Leydon, he was recorded as a say-worker from England. In March 1652 he, Francis Cooke, and others bought a large tract of land, in what was later called Dartmouth. He returned to England before 1654, when he signed a power od attorney directing John Winslow of Plymouth to dispose of his property and divide it among his five children there. (Mayflower Planters, Cape Code Series Vol. II, Merchant Adventurers of England, 1500-1605, page 64) Stephen Tracy, of Yarmouth, Norfolk, Mrs. Tryphosa Tracy, and a child, were on the list of passengers of the ANNE, William Peirce, Master. She arrived at Plymouth about 10 July 1623, and 'brought 60 persons for the Generall. The entire company settled at Plymouth. (The Planters of The Commonwealth in Massachusetts, 1620-1640, page 54) 
Stephen and Triphosa Tracy, who were married in Leyden, Holland, January 2, 1621, and came in the "Ann" to Plymouth in 1623. Stephen Tracy went back to England to live in 1655, and his will mentions Great Yarmouth as his place of abode. (Partridge Genealogy, page 4)
