This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.Classification: QueryMessage Board URL:Message Board Post:Dear Wanda,Thank you for your response. I have founds massive amounts of research for the Meacham's amd I have birth and death dates for sarah Bond Cauley, but I have been unable to find her, under the name, Bond or fcauley, in New Salem, Mass, where she is reported to have been born, There are a goodly amount od Meachames with both spellings in the Vital Records of New Salem MA. to 1849 but Doctor Thomas and Sarah are not included, and neither are any of their children. Sarah is reported to have died in Lawrence County, New York, so there must be records for her there. In the past few days I have made enquiries about the region and I want to be able to get in touch with the records ofices of that area now.Though the Meachams are astonishingly well researched Sarah's relatives are not known and are, as such, unnamed in the annals of the Meacham family. My research is by request of a Meacham relative, who has a desire to learn more about Sarah specifically, and her family.Thank you tremendously for your input.

Thanks for the input Wanda. I have checked several New salem resources, including the publication New Salem Vital Records to 1849. There is no mention of her in the records there. The problem with Sarah Bond Cauley is that the dates for her in all the family genealogy, which is vast by the way, has given her the birth and death dates of her husband's other wife. The local archivists are having trouble helping me. They believe that she is only mother to one of the ten children, while Rebecca Grandy Sanford is mother to the rest, contarary to what the family genealogies say. In the end we will prevail, but for now we just have to find a modicum of proof that she actually was born in New Salem and that she did indeed die in Lawrence, St. Lawrence New York. I am currently checking cemetery sites for the St. Lawrence County area. I planned to go to New salem, but have not done that yet.Thank you for the advice, I appreciate your thoughtfulness.Robert Hutton rvhuk@yahoo.com
