BIRTH:  I have always been a little concerned that we have Mary Jane Norton connected to the right Norton line.  The 1880 census of Marion, Ma for the household of Charles Hallett Briggs shows his wife, Mary J. (Norton) Briggs and her mother Elizabeth Norton. As my records show that Mary Norton's father, Enoch, died in 1862 and her mother, Elizabeth, in 1887, this single record adds credence to the family connection.
