(Eddy bulletin #13, p. 184 for full account.) those who received shares were the widow, Deliverance Eddy, sons: Ebenezer, Eleazer, Joseph, Jonathan; daughters: Susannah Eddy, Patience Eddy, Mary Rude, eldest daughter; Mercy Fisher, 2nd daughter; Hannah Eddy. Another record in Taunton states that Susannah Durfees, daughter of John Eddy, dec'd., and wife of John Durfees relinquished to her mother Deliverance Smith, widow, their share in the homestead of John Eddy, dec'd.

From Mrs. E.M. Rogers collection: 1746, May 26, Mary Rude of Stafford, Conn., is to receive of her grandson, Nathan Rude of Preston, Conn. 8 pounds yearly during her natural life, in consideration of giving up all claim to her "thirds" in the land her husband "dyed possest of" 1749, Jan. Receipt shows Mary was of Windsor. (Prob. L. Rec. Preston, Conn.; these extracts were made by Miss CharlieHallett of Preston, as desc. thro' Zachariah Rude (John 3, John 2, Thomas 1) 1746, Sept 16, Nathaniel Braman and wife Mehitabel Braman of Windsor (Conn?) quit claim to Nathan Rude their right in land given to Nathan Rude by Mary Rude of Stafford, May 26, 1746, to her "grandson" Nathan Rude of Preston. 1752, Apr 13, Then I mehitabel Braman of Windsor have rec'd of Nathan Rude of Preston ye full sum of 8 pounds old tenor by an order from my honored mother Mary Rude for her Rent in full for ye year 1751," 1752, Dec. Mary writes to Nathan from Stafford; last date of her ? "Preston December 31st AD 1753" Then rec'd of Mr. Nathan Rude of Preston 8 pounds upon the account of a Bond that ye sd Nathan Rude gave Mary Rude of Windsor--for her thirds. (Signed) James Braman. Miss Hallett says this is the last receipt she found. The Rood-Rude Record, Vol. 3, p. 13: (see husband, John Rood's notes for estate inventory) Mary Rood widow and Relict of John Rood late of Preston Deceased appeared in a Court of Probates held in New London Sept the 18th 1706 and made Oath that she gave in the apprizers a true acct of the Estate of her Deceased husband and according to the Cost of her knowledge, and if anything further appear to be his Estate that is Considerable she will add it to this Inventory. Test/ George Denison Clerk of Probate The apprizers must figure the inventorie. The Widow must make oath that she hath made a true presentment of her Deceased husband's estate which may be done before any justice of the Quorum. Abstract of Bond: Know all men by these presents that I Mary Rood of Preston toether with my surtie Thomas Rose -- Do acknowledge our Selves Joyntly & severally to owe & stad Justly Indebted unto the Court of Probate in New London County the full and just summof one hundred pounds Current money . . . . in New London the 18th day of September in the fifth year of her Magesties Reign ann Domino 1706. . . .
