Adminis. or Bond:  Estate John Rice on Sep. 15th 1772.
Know all men by these presents, That we Eliphalet Rice & Samuel Rice of Glassenbury in the County & District of Hartford are Holden, and hand firmly Bound and Obliged unto Joseph Talcott Esq. Judge of the Court of Probate for the District of Hartford in the Penal Sum of one hundred pounds money of said Colony: To be paid to the said Joseph Talcott Exq. Judge, or his certain Attorney, or Successors, in Hartford To the which payment well and truly to be made, and done, we the said Eliphalet and Samuel Rice do bind, ourselves, and each of us, our Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, and each and every of them, for, and in the whole, Firmly by these Presents, Signed with our Hands, and Sealed with our Seals.  Dated at Hartford the 15th Day of Septemr in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord, George III by the Grace of GOD of Great Britain, France, and Ireland KING, defender of the Faith, &c, Annoque Domino, One Thousand Seven Hundred, and Seventy Two.

The Condition of this Obligation is such, That if the above Bounden Eliphalet Rice Administrator of all, and singular the Goods, Chattels, Credits, and Estate of John Rice of Glassenbury Deceased, do make, or cause to be made a true and prefect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Estate of the said Deceased, which have, or shall come to the Hands, Possession, or Knowledge of the said Eliphalet Rice ____ or into the Hands, or Possession of any other Person, or Persons for him; and the same so made do Exhibit, or cause to be Exhibited into the Registry of the said Court of Probate in the District of Hartford at, or before the 15th Day of Nov. next ensuing; And the same Goods, Chattels, Credits & Estate; and all other the Goods, Chattels, Credits and Estate of the said Deceased at the Time of his Death, which after shall come the Hands, or Possession of the said Eliphalet or into the Hands or Possession of any other Person or Persons for him, do well and truly Administer according to Law.  And further, Do make or cause to be made a true and just Account of (his) said Administration, at or before the 15th day of Sept 1773 And all the rest and residue of the said Goods, Chattels, Credits & Estate which shall be found remaining upon the said Administrat Account; the same being first Examined & Allowed by the said Court of Probate, shall deliver, & pay unto such Person or Persons respectively, as the said Court pf Probates, by their Decree or Sentence, pursuant to the true intent, & Meaning of the Law shall limit & appoint.  And if it shall hereafter Appear that any Last Will & Testament was made by the said Deceased, & the Executor or Executors therein Named do Exhibit the same into the said Court, making Request to have it Allowed & Approved accordingly; if the said Eliphalet Rice being thereunto required, do render, and deliver the said Letters of Administration, (approbation of such Testament being first had and made) in the said Court, then this Obligation to be Void, and of none Effect; or else to remain in full Force and Virtue.

       Att a Court Probate Holden at Hartford for the District of Hartford on the 15th day of Sep.r A.D. 1772 We the Subscribers being appointed Commisors on the Estate of Mr. John Rice Late of Glassenbury Deceas.d
(Represented to be Insolvent) to adjust the Claims of the Creditors to Said Estate to Se how they are made out &c, we having Notified in the Public News Papers the Creditors to Said Estate & attended Said Business at Time & place appointed &c, and no Claims being brought in but, Samuel Rice which is L 11:9s:11d.
