Albert Carl NOERENBERG, REVEREND
REFERENCE: NOERENBERG, William, 15 Feb 1937; "Autobiography of William NOERENBRG, A Short Sketch of My Life". Albert arrived May 1882 in the United States with brother Johann Fredercih Wilhelm NOERENBERG and parents. After his parents died in 1884, he worked as a farm hand, and then farmed his own land near Ithaca. In the late 1880s, Albert went into the ministry. Family of Ferdinand C. Immigrated to the United States 8 May 1882 on ship HOHENSTAUFFEN from Bremen, Germany to New York. Tombstone in Zion Evanglical Church cemetery 2-1/2 miles south and 1/2 mile east of Ithaca, Saunders County, Nebraska, is inscribed "SONS OF REV. ALBERT C. & BERTHA, ARTHUR 1891 - 1895, WALTER 1893 - 1895, NOERENBERG". His granddaughter and daughter of Ben NOERENBERG, Beth Moede of Sequin, Texas, informed Maurla White, May 2000, that Albert was just moving to Crofton, Nebraska, got sick on the train, and died June 4, 1900 after only a week at his new church.

Bertha Emma (SCHIEFELBEIN) NOERENBERG was the fourth child and third daughter of C. Fredrick and Pauline (MALVITC) SCHIEFELBEIN. The first child of the family to be born in America (Illionis); born September 1872. She was six years old at the time the family moved west to Nebraska. She married Albert NOERENBERG in 1890. Their family home was 4-1/2 miles south and 1/4 miles east of Ithaca, Nebraska, in Green Township. Albert, her husband, immigrated from Germany to Nebraska at the age of fourteen. A preacher, he died at the age of 32 years. Their first two sons died of diptheria in infancy, in 1895. Bertha was left as a young widow at 26 years of age with three children ranging in age from 4 years to 5 months.
