Johann Frederich Wilhelm (William) NOERENBERG, in late April 1882 immigrated from Hinterpommern, Prussia, Germany, via Bremen, Germany, with brother Albert, parents, eight Timms, and two Rexilius, by 15-day boat trip, arriving in Ashland, Nebraska, May 12, 1882; then by horse and wagon the next day to Ithaca, Nebraska. Father, Friedrich NOERENBERG was killed while shocking grain in a field on July 30, 1884. William and Albert worked as farm hands, and then farmed their land near Ithaca. William entered the ministry in 1888, and had preaching stations in Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. He retired from the ministry in Stanton, Nebraska sometime after 1939; moved to Fremont, Nebraska, where he lived with his daughter Emma for some years, and died March 15, 1957 at the age of 91 years. Immigrated to United States 8 May 1882, on the ship HOHENSTAUFFEN from Bremen, Germany to New York.

Treptow (45), occupation farmer, mother Friedrike Treptow (43), and other children Bertha (18) and Wilhelm (24). Treptow Pedigree Chart, provided Kenneth M. Reim by Kathryn R. Stevens, 7 Jul 1997, shows Augusta Marie Emilie Treptow died 25 Jul 1919, Sutton, Nebraska. From hand written record of her husband, William NOERENBERG; Augusta suffered a (brain) stroke on July 24, 1919 at 3 p.m., then a second at 4 o'clock, a third around 5 o'clock, and died on July 25 ay 6:10 in the morning, was buried on July 28, 1919, Ithaca, Nebraska.

Emma assumed role of a preacher's wife, for her father, when her mother died in 1919, and helped raise the younger children. Later did sales clerk and office work.

Following information from April 2000, phone conservation of Maurla Haehlen with Don NORENBERG, Cleveland, Ohio, son of Jesse NORENBERG; Jesse's body given to medical school - memorial marker for Jesse and wife Loretta in Loretta PAGEL'S family plot, Stevens Point, Portage County, Wisconsin. After graduation from the Seminary, Jesse served at (1) Lake Mills Congregational Church, Lake Mills, Wisconsin; (2) First Congregational Church, Sparta, Wisconsin; (3) First Congegational Church, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; (4) Congregational Church, Glen Ellen, Illinois; and (5) Superintendent of Wisconsin Conference of Congregational Church in Madison, Wisconsin.

From personal interview April 18 and 19, 2000 by Marula (HAEHLEN) WHITE with Mildred (NORENBERG) BARNES (96 years old), wife of Hugo until his death. Minister of Evangelical Church, Murdock, Nebraska, 1928-1933; United Methodist Church, Culbertson, Nebraska, 1933-1941; 1941 moved to Hot Springs for a year to recover from 1941 heart attack - had serious arthritis and eyeritis (sp?) also. Spent time in the Army/Navy Hospital. Warm weather helped arthritis so after a year moved in 1942 to St. Petersburg, Florida. Summer supply minister numerous years for Pass-a-Grille Community Church, St. Petersburg. Worked as a counselor at the United Brethern Church in St. Petersburg for a time. Worked with Norenberg Novities - hand painted shell and fish scale coustome jewelry. Hugo died peacefully in his sleep.

Meta taught high school at Harvard and Alliance, Nebraska; at Peru State Teachers College, Elmhurst College at Elmhurst, Illinois; and Professor of English at State University College at Buffalo, New York. Meta retired from her teaching profession in 1965, and moved to Fremont, Nebraska. Maurla Kleone (HAEHLEN) WHITE, daughter of Alma Dorothea (NORENBERG) HAEHLEN, in 12 Sep 1997 letter to Kenneth M. Reim provide place of death, and that her parents were cremated and ashes placed at Mt. Ranier, Washington, and at Dream Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Parents memorial markers are in both the Indian Mound Cemetery, Ithaca, Saunders County, Nebraska, next to the Norenberg family stone; and in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa, next to the Haehlen family stone. Maurla WHITE May 10, 2000 provided the following biographic information on her mother Alma Dorothea NORENBERG as follows. Dorothy graduated from Norfork High School in 1923, taught country school 20 miles north of Norfork for one year, attended Western Union 1924-26, graduated with teaching degree; taught music and other things in Melvin, Iowa one year, 1926-27; taught music and other things in Lime Springs four years, 1927-1931. Was an active minister's wife - sang in choir, hosted events, taught Sunday School, worked for Palestinian Rights and Women's Right to Choice.

Wilma and husband Jim are buried in Holland Cemetery, Panama, Nebraska, with husband's family; both bodies donated to medical school, and ashes recieved and put there; have a joint stone. Wilma graduated from 4 years at Hastings College,; taught school a Regan, Nebraska one year where she met Jim KROON; taught a year in Seward; mostly a stay-at-home mother; and worked seasonly for a milo seed company.
He married Augusta Marie Emilie Treptow 22 Mar 1890 at Ithaca, Saunders Co., Nebraska . Augusta Marie Emilie Treptow was born at Schmollenhagen, Hinterpommern, Prussia, Germany 22 Mar 1866 daughter of August Christian Friedrich Treptow and Friedericke Wilhelmine Benlow Timm .
