WINSLOW died 5 Apr 1920, age 90 years 6 days; Eliza Jane (WEST) WINSLOW, his
wife died 17 Mar 1915, age 86 years, 2 months, 6 days; Emma M., daughter of
J.J. & E.J. WINSLOW, died 18 May 1885, age 23 years, 7 months, 12 days. Notes
taken from WINSLOW Ancestors: John J. WINSLOW, Stephen's third child stayed
with his family in West Fort Ann for several years. His wife Eliza Jane WEST
was sister to Emeline WEST, Daniel Allen WINSLOW's wife. The 1865
Washington County census for Fort Ann shows:

Toward the end of 1865, John J. WINSLOW and his family came to Stony Creek. He
earned a living by lumbering and farming, also from 1873 to 1875 operated the
Creek Center House, a hotel across from the present day, Stony Creek Inn.
Later in his life he developed an infectious sore on his leg and on 1 Oct 1903
his leg was amputated above the knee at Saratoga Hospital. He died in 1920, and
is buried in Stony Creek.
