early history, born in England, appears among those of the earlist settlers in
ancient "Brantrey" as early as 1643, and, and along with it, among the founders
of this town seated on the southern shores of Massechusetts Bay, may be found
the family names of Adams, Quincy, Barrett and Spaulding, with others well known
in later American history. Daniel Shed left his old home in Braintree in 1659
and bought 23 acres in Billercia. Frontier life was difficult, and they

in old Braintree, 1642-1658. Daniel SHED with first wife Mary had seven
children, and with second wife Elizabeth had four children. Page 42, Daniel
SHED acquired the title of "Corpll", probably during the period when the
settlers armed themselves against Indian attacks.
